CLARK — Third graders in Miss Parlavecchio’s language arts literacy class at Frank K. Hehnly School in Clark staged their own election for class president. Each girl made their own campaign speech and campaign slogan based on short story, “And If I’m Elected” that they had read in class. Miss Parlavecchio discussed the presidential election between Mitt Romney and Barrack Obama with the students to begin the class. After the discussion, the girls thought of their own slogans and created their own posters. After completion of their slogan the students began their campaign speech. The students came up with ideas on ways to improve the school. Pictured above, from the left, are Gina Peterpaul, AnnDee Jennings and Kate Hall (Photo courtesy of Clark Public Schools)
