CLARK — The fourth and fifth grade students from Valley Road School in Clark were in for a special treat when they attended the Legends of the Courtyard Program presented by the Valley Road PTA and Reading Committee.

The students enjoyed listening to spooktacular stories about the “Birth of the New Jersey Devil,” “Annabelle, The Haunted Doll” and a story about a haunted mansion while sitting on blankets in the dark in the school’s courtyard. The only light came from their flashlights. The students also spotted some scary visitors on their journey. Valley Road School’s Principal Joseph Beltramba, Curriculum Supervisor Edward Grande, first grade teachers Mrs. Peitz and Mrs. Spence as well as parent volunteer Jim Hilton made special guest appearances.
