CLARK — Valley Road School kindergartners in Meghan Zampella’s class spent the week learning about bats and owls. They read an informational text about each animal, labeled parts of each animal and listed facts they learned about them. Then to conclude the unit, the class completed a Venn diagram comparing the facts that were the same and different about bats and owls. Students were eager to fill in this final chart realizing how much they had learned. Fictional stories about the animals and crafts were also completed. Pictured above, Gia Impellizzeri holds two of the books the class read, Ava Redfern holds the Venn diagram, and Spencer Prusakowski holds the class’s owl craft.
