NEW BRUNSWICK — A New Brunswick teenager was killed Saturday morning, the apparent victim of a stabbing, Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and New Brunswick police director Anthony A. Caputo announced.

Junio Moronto, 17, of New Brunswick was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he was pronounced dead at 2:45 a.m. on Nov. 10

The results of an autopsy performed by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office were not immediately available, but a preliminary investigation determined the teenager had been stabbed.

The investigation began after New Brunswick police, on routine patrol, arrived at the intersection of Remsen Avenue and Hale Street in New Brunswick at 1:52 a.m. and found the victim laying on the ground. He immediately was taken to the hospital.
