UPDATE: Shortly before 3 p.m., Perth Amboy police reported that PSE&G restored power in the Chamberlain Avenue area and the road has been opened up for traffic.
PERTH AMBOY — The area of Chamberlain Avenue and Pfieffer Boulevard is closed to vehicular traffic due to a fallen power line, Perth Amboy police announced shortly after 10 a.m. this morning.
Police have set up a traffic pattern and will be patrolling the affected area until power is restored. PSE&G has been notified and the utility is working on the problem. Some power has already been restored in the area.
Police are patrolling other areas that do not have power and will remain on duty until power is restored, officials said.
