RAHWAY — Despite the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, guests at RWJ Rahway Foundation’s 21st Annual Fashion Show celebrated a day of fun and friendship and helped raise $35,000 to benefit RWJ Rahway. “Our wonderful Fall tradition gave everyone a bright spot, and for some it was a warm place and their first hot meal,” said RWJ Rahway Foundation President Marlene H. Lubinger.
“We are so proud to be celebrating 21 years of success for the Fashion Show, and are glad so many could still join us today,” said Fashion Show Chairman Cindy Timoni.
The Boutique Auction, chaired by Marla Lind, featured 140 beautiful gift baskets filled with wonderful items and gift certificates all donated by local merchants, employees, committee and community members. The 8th Annual Hospital Family Basket Contest winners were Best Overall – ”That’s Just Ducky,” by Dr. Eugene Lind’s Office Staff; Best Interpretation of Theme – “Thanksgiving in a Basket” by RWJ Rahway’s Food and Nutrition Department, and Most Artistic – “Decorate the Whole Year Through,” by members of the hospital’s Finance Department.
Next year’s Fashion Show will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2 at The Bridgewater Marriott.
