Bank Team Members Pitch In After Hurricane

ELIZABETH — Sovereign Bank team members have been delivering goods to some 700 Sovereign team members who live in the New York and New Jersey areas who were affected by Hurricane Sandy. On Tuesday, they made a stop in Elizabeth to deliver supplies purchased at a B.J.’s in Philadelphia.

“We are so grateful and proud of our Team Members who have endured hardship themselves but have shown a tremendous fortitude by coming to work and helping to get our branches up and running again as quickly as possible,” commented David Miree, Managing Director, Retail Network Sovereign Bank.  “This is just a small token of our appreciation.”

Sovereign is also offering an emergency loan program to support customers who have sustained losses to their property from hurricane damage. This will include loans up to $10,000 at a low interest rate.  To apply for the loans, customers should visit their local Sovereign Bank branch.  Loan applications are subject to credit approval.
