More Than 64,000 Union County Customers Still Waiting For Power

UNION COUNTY – Utility companies are still working to restore power to customers affected by Hurricane Sandy.

As of 8 a.m., PSE&G reported that 56,113 customers in Union County were still waiting to regain electricity. Initially, 177,866 of the utility’s 201,400 customers had lost power.

As of 7:56 a.m., JCP&L reported that 8,068 of their 27,036 Union County customers were still without power: 1,047 in Berkeley Heights, 76 in Mountainside, 1,371 in New Providence, 2,886 in Springfield and 2,688 in Summit.
