UNION COUNTY — Most county-run recreational programs scheduled this weekend are cancelled, but Paratransit will operate on Saturday and Meals on Wheels delivery is scheduled to resume Monday.
The Watchung Stables remain closed, and all programs are cancelled through Monday, Nov. 5, including Watchung Mounted Troop and Trail Rides. At that time, conditions will be reassessed to determine program status for Tuesday, Nov. 6.
Warinanco Skating Center remains closed, and all programs and ice rentals are cancelled through Monday, Nov. 5. At that time, conditions will be reassessed to determine facility and program status for Tuesday, Nov. 6 Hockey clinics and ice skating lessons scheduled for Nov. 2 – 4 have been postponed for a week, pending park & facility conditions at that time.
Trailside Nature & Science Center remains closed, and all programs have been cancelled through Wednesday, Nov. 7. At that time, conditions will be reassessed to determine facility and program status for Thursday, Nov. 8
For safety reasons, all Union County Park athletic field, picnic and special event permits are cancelled until further notice.
Paratransit will provide transportation to dialysis appointments on Saturday, Nov. 3. Paratransit will provide transportation to medical and dialysis appointments and the Rahway to Plainfield Shuttle on Monday, Nov. 5.
Meals on Wheels will provide home delivered meals and partial congregate site delivery on Monday, Nov. 5.
The Union County Clerk’s Office, in Elizabeth and Westfield, will have extended hours this weekend, Nov. 3 and 4. Both offices will be open for voting from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
