LINDEN — The 21st Century Community Learning Center at Soehl Middle School recently coordinated several class trips to the Classic Thyme Cooking School. After-school participants participated in a hands-on Italian cooking class in which the students made pasta, sauce, meatballs, garlic bread and fruit smoothies. The chef at Classic Thyme gave a demonstration of basic cooking concepts and worked with the student groups to ensure that the recipes were being followed and offered helpful cooking tips along the way. At the end of the cooking class, the students thoroughly enjoyed their Italian meal. Shown here, sixth grader Aliani Rosado makes fresh tomato sauce. (Photo courtesy of Linden Public Schools)
