STATE — Over two million electrical customers remain without power this afternoon in New Jersey. The state’s two largest utilities, PSE&G and JCP&L, reported 1.4 million and 984,482 affected customers, respectively.
Both companies are advising their customers to be prepared for long-term outages as a result of the unprecedented storm.
PSE&G estimates all customers should have service restored by Monday, Nov. 5, but is unable to estimate how long specific jobs will take.
JCP&L focused on damage assessment today, but expected to perform limited power restoration work as well. Early assessments indicate parts of the transmission system may need to be rebuilt.
PSE&G customers should call 1-800-437-PSEG (7734) to report power outages. JCP&L customers should call 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) to report outages.
