ELIZABETH — As of 3:15 p.m., PSE&G reported that more than 10,000 Elizabeth customers remained without power and city officials advised residents that it could take at least three days for electricity to be restored. Residents should call 1-800-436-7734 to report downed wires.
Elizabeth Public Schools will remain closed for the rest of the week.
There will be no recycling pickup on Wednesday and no garbage pickup on Thursday.
The Department of Public Works is clearing roads as quickly as possible. All traffic signals in the City of Elizabeth are out; drivers are being asked to exercise caution and minimize their travel.
