Mandatory Evacuation Ordered For Some Elizabeth Residents

ELIZABETH – Due to Hurricane conditions, the City of Elizabeth is imposing a mandatory evacuation of Front Street between Elizabeth Avenue and Pine Streets (including side streets).

Residents are asked to leave by 5 p.m. and move their cars to higher ground. Shelter is available at the Miller-Evans Logan Recreation Center at 161-163 First Street, if needed. Pets will be accepted. Residents should bring  sleeping bags, pillows, blankets, medications and food.

The Elizabeth Police will be in the area passing out notices. For emergencies call 1-908-558-2111.
