CRANFORD — The Cranford Emergency Management Council met this morning in preparation of the potential impact from Hurricane Sandy.

Authorities are advising residents that this is a good time to start preparing your disaster supply kit and family disaster plan considering the potential impacts of flooding, debris, high winds, and power outages.

The NJ Office of Emergency Management has a hurricane survival guide on line. Though authorities remind residents that Sandy won’t be a hurricane when it reaches this area, the readiness information provided by NJOEM is good for all hazards

Authorities plan to post National Weather Services updates as they receive them.
