CRANFORD—The Friends of the Cranford Public Library will present noted New Jersey photographer Walter Choroszewski, who will offer “Photo Tips for Better Pics,” a program on photography basics, on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. in the Cranford Community Center.
Choroszewski will cover a variety of topics, including lenses, depth of field, angle of coverage, ISO, f-stops, aperture, shutter speeds, lighting, and composition.
Choroszewki’s first major assignment as a photographer came in 1980 when he was commissioned by a book publisher to do a photo essay on New Jersey. New Jersey, A Scenic Discovery was published in 1981 and established his photographic identity and lifelong link to the Garden State. He was the primary photographer of the New Jersey state tourism campaigns in the 1980s and 1990s, and he continues to supply the state with photos.
In 1985, Choroszewski started Aesthetic Press, which specializes in publishing regional books and calendars. He has produced 17 photographic books and numerous wall calendars. This marks Choroszewski’s third visit to Cranford, where he has also presented programs on digital cameras and on managing and storing digital photography files. Admission to the program is free and all are welcome.
