PERTH AMBOY – The Perth Amboy Police Department has advised residents that children age 17 and younger must be off city streets by 6 p.m. on Oct. 30 and 31, unless they are accompanied by a parent.

The department is also asking local merchants not to sell markers, eggs, soap or shaving cream to anyone under 18 on Oct. 29, 30 or 31. The request is aimed at preventing criminal mischief.

Extra police patrols are planned and authorities are asking residents to report any suspicious activity.
