Newark Bears’ “Stadium of Screams” Opens Tonight

NEWARK –Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium in Newark will be transformed from ballpark to haunted house tonight, as the Newark Bears are scheduled to open their doors for the Halloween-themed event.

In its second year, “Stadium of Screams” is a bone-chilling haunted attraction that features three separate indoor haunts, allowing fans to navigate through the team’s clubhouse and other areas of the ballpark. One of the haunts is less frightening and designed for younger children.

“Stadium of Screams” will run on the following days: Oct. 18 – 21, 25 – 28 and 31 from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Admission into the stadium, where there will be live entertainment, costume contests and carnival games, is free. Admission into the three haunted attractions is $20. A hay ride that takes place on the field at “The Den” costs $5. Mystery dinners are also available.

On Saturday, Oct.  27, the Bears are giving Fido an opportunity to join in on the holiday fun with the first annual “Barkula”—a costume contest for dogs—with winners being chosen for scariest, most creative and cutest costumes, as well as a talent competition and an Ugliest Dog contest.
