Children’s Specialized Hospital Announces Photo Contest To Inspire Kids

STATE — Children’s Specialized Hospital invites you to share pictures of your child(ren) that exemplify how far they have come in their rehabilitation, or how they have overcome an obstacle despite personal challenges for the 2012 “Look What I Can Do Photo Contest.” The hospital hopes this contest will inspire children to reach their fullest potential. Submit photos by Nov. 15 at

Parents are invited to snap a picture of their child(ren) that demonstrate the “Look What I Can Do” theme. Examples might be – a teen receiving their driver’s license; a child taking their first steps after recovering from an injury; a child learning how to eat something new; a child going back to school or earning a high school/college diploma etc.

All photos that meet the criteria will then be posted into a special album on the Children’s Specialized Hospital Facebook page ( The child(ren) featured in the picture does not have to be a current patient at Children’s Specialized Hospital.

To submit an entry, email a photo, 5 mb or smaller, to by Nov. 15. Include the child’s name, age, hometown and two or three sentences about the child and why the photo fits in to the “Look What I Can Do” theme. Children’s Specialized Hospital asks that you only include one photo per child. By submitting a photo via email, you are giving permission for the photo to be posted on Facebook and Children’s Specialized Hospital’s website. The hospital will then ask you to sign an official media photo release form and the photo becomes the property of Children’s Specialized Hospital.

For safety and security reasons, Children’s Specialized Hospital asks that you only submit photos of children whom you are the parent or legal guardian. Your submission of the photo is your guarantee that you are the parent or guardian of the kid(s) in the photo. The hospital also asks that you keep in mind that photo submissions are intended to be shared on a family-friendly site, so please refrain from posting any questionable content.

There will be several categories and entries will be judged on creativity, photographic quality and effectiveness in incorporating the “Look What I Can Do” theme. One award will be determined by the most number of “likes” the photo receives. Others will be recognized as most creative, most excited, youngest, oldest etc. Winners will be recognized on Children’s Specialized Hospital’s social media sites, website and in newsletters.
