The EPA recently released its plan to remove lead contamination at Raritan Bay Superfund Site in Old Bridge and Sayreville. The proposed plan calls for the complete removal of contaminated soil, sediment and waste including slag and battery casings, with appropriate off-site disposal.
Baykeeper strongly supports EPA’s preferred clean up recommendation, as it will provide the most comprehensive clean-up of the contamination and return the beach to unrestricted use.
Your input is the key to making this clean-up plan a reality. Please take the time to submit comments to the EPA in support of the plan.
