PERTH AMBOY – Police arrested a 42-year-old city resident who allegedly operated an unlicensed practice of medicine and surgery, authorities announced Tuesday.
On Monday, Oct. 1, police were dispatched to a home on the 200 block of Sheridan Street to investigate a dispute. A victim claimed that she paid Maria Nunez $2,000 to perform a cosmetic medical procedure. When she was unhappy with the results, she notified police.
After an investigation conducted by police and health department officials, officers arrested Maria Brunilda Nunez Perez. Judge George Boyd set bail at $2,500.00 with no 10 percent option.
The charges are merely accusations and the suspect is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
