HILLSIDE — Kean’s newest concert artist, Jorge Caballero, is the first guitarist to win the prestigious Walter W. Naumburg International Competition and the youngest winner as well. Caballero will perform a solo recital in Enlow Hall on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m.
Caballero is known for his dazzling virtuosity, his intense musicality and his spellbinding performances. He is widely regarded as one of the finest guitarists of his generation. The program will include Bach’s Partita, BWV 1013, Four Pieces by Albéniz, and Caballero’s arrangement of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition
The Concert Artist Program brings performing musicians onto the faculty of the Conservatory of Music. While maintaining successful careers as professional performers, Concert Artists present solo, chamber music, and jazz recitals at Kean; teach private, weekly studio lessons to Kean students; and conduct master classes and other community outreach services in the public schools and junior colleges. Some Concert Artists also coach ensembles and teach classroom courses related to their specialties.
Enlow Hall is located on the East Campus of Kean University at 215 North Avenue in Hillside. Tickets are $25. Call 1-908-737-7469 or visit www.enlowhall.kean.edu
