ELIZABETH — The Rotary Club of Elizabeth, celebrating its 95th year of service to the Greater Elizabeth Community, will host a unique food-tasting event, The Taste of Elizabeth VI, on Monday, Oct. 22 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel, 1000 Spring Street, Elizabeth.
“This is our largest event ever, which is evidence of the success of Taste of Elizabeth and its strong following,” explained Chairman Kenneth Richuso. “This year’s event will feature 39 of the area’s finest restaurants and beverage vendors, plus some exciting new participants. Our event is a unique dining experience featuring an ethnically diverse display of sumptuous gourmet dishes from Elizabeth and the surrounding area’s most exciting restaurants. In addition, we have three ‘community’ vendors – Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Elizabeth High School Culinary School, and Come Grow With Us Gardens – that offer a uniqueness to the event,” he added.
“Taste of Elizabeth VI is your chance to discover new restaurants, enjoy all your favorites at a discounted price, and help the community at the same time!” Richuso exclaimed.
Taste of Elizabeth VI will also feature a 50/50 raffle and a Tricky Tray silent auction. Funds raised from the Taste of Elizabeth VI will enable the Rotary Club of Elizabeth to continue to provide financial grants to local non-profit agencies and to provide college scholarships through the Club’s Albert & Louise Davis Scholarship Fund. The event is expected to raise over $20,000 for these causes, according to Richuso.
Tickets for Taste of Elizabeth VI can be ordered online through the Rotary Club’s website: www.ElizabethRotary.org. Tickets are priced at $30 in advance and $40 at the door.
