RAHWAY — On Saturday, Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the LaFayette Lodge #27 F&AM, located at 1550 Irving Street in Rahway, will host an open house with a presentation by Rahway Police John Rodger discussing Child Safety and Home Security.
The officers and members of the lodge invite the public to bring children for the presentation and a tour of the building.
LaFayette Lodge was constituted shortly after the Marquis de LaFayette passed through Rahway in 1824 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the American Revolution.
The tour of the lodge will explain some of the so called “secrets” of Freemasonry and will feature the ancient representation of King Solomon’s Temple, which was recently renovated by Rahway’s own Peter Caravella. The main banquet hall was redone by Peter and Donald A.C. Black, Sr. of Carteret.
The Grand Lodge of N.J. is encouraged by the surge in popularity of Freemasonry with the help of recent movies and T.V. shows but wants to enlighten men and the public in it’s belief in Charity, Morality and Truth.
Therefore it has designated Oct. 13 as “Square and Compass Day” and every Lodge in the State will have their doors open to introduce good men and their families to Freemasonry. Direct questions to Larry Bodine at 732-388-7081 or Cell 848-219-0458.
