On my journey, I found the most peaceful place where women come to heal and just be themselves while living with or recovering from cancer. Once you have been touched with cancer, your life changes. Many women continue to work, take care of their families and their responsibilities while going through treatment without a chance to take time for themselves.
Mary’s Place By The Sea in Ocean Grove, New Jersey is a wonderful respite home where you can be yourself, remove your wig, laugh, cry, or just be still while your surroundings make it possible to heal your inner self. Tranquil rooms and settings rejuvenate one’s inner person. This beautiful Victorian home is filled with everything you need to relax and heal. There are oncological messages, reiki sessions, nutritional counseling, friendly faces and warm hearts, plus much more to make your stay special. Whether you’re walking on the boardwalk, beach, around the lake or the neighborhood, the quiet setting is relaxing.
Owners Michele and Maria had a vision and with the help of a staff of volunteers and the funds they raised, they offer this service free to all their guests. This non-profit organization can ensure that our mothers, sisters, friends and coworkers have a place to heal and regain their self-esteem.
This October, in lieu of a “walk for the cure,” I would like to raise money for Mary’s Place By The Sea where you can see how the magic of healing can help your loved one regain a new aspect on life.
