17th Annual Fanny Wood Day Street Festival Set For Sept. 30

FANWOOD — On Sunday, Sept. 30, South Avenue & Martine Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic and turned into a giant block party from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. The 17th Annual Fanny Wood Day Street Festival will feature a Classic Car Show in the South Avenue side of the train station parking lot with more than 60 cars expected.

There will be various food contests such as an ice cream-eating contest, a pizza-eating contest and a stuffed pretzel-eating contest. Other contests will include a hula-hoop, a water balloon toss and a best dressed pet parade.

Come hungry as there will be sausage & peppers, cheese steaks, pulled pork, chicken fingers, gyros, fresh cut french fries, Italian ice and much more.

As you stroll along the street visit the local merchants & civic organizations displaying their merchandise, the retail exhibitors selling a selection of merchandise such as jewelry, handbags, sports collectibles, dollar items, assorted crafts and unique one of a kind items.

There will be Musical Entertainment all day long, plus kiddie rides, pony rides & a petting zoo, face painting, sand art and more.
