CLARK — Members of Kirstin Bethavas’ sixth grade social studies class at Carl H. Kumpf Middle School in Clark proudly display artifacts from their personal history. As part of a class exercise focused on the importance of understanding history, students chose physical artifacts that represented an important piece of their history or wrote creatively to share their life stories with their classmates. Students brought in many unique and interesting items to share their history and heritage. Highlights included an antique New Jersey license plate from a 1928 Ford Model A car, brought in by Evandro Galli, and a collection of rare seashells brought in by Lisa Romeo. Pictured above are (from left): Nicholas Serpe, Ryan Pittari, Federico Veltre, Brenden Kelly, and Lauren Mulvihill. (Photo courtesy of Clark Public Schools)
