HILLSIDE – Country/pop singer and two-time Grammy ® Award winner LeAnn Rimes will perform a one-night-only acoustic concert in Kean University’s Enlow Recital Hall on Friday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m.
Rimes has sold over 37 million records worldwide and has placed over 40 singles on American and international charts since 1996. Rimes’ first album Blue peaked at #1 on the Country charts and #3 on the Billboard 200. She was awarded the Grammy® for Best New Artist and Best Female Country Vocal Performance. Her sophomore album You Light up My Life: Inspirational Songs featured “How Do I Live” which became the biggest pop hit of the year and set a record as the longest running single when it spent 69 weeks on the Hot 100. Later hits include “Can’t Fight the Moonlight”, “Nothin’ Bout Love Makes Sense” and “Probably Wouldn’t Be This Way”. LeAnn Rimes has been working on her latest album Spitfire due to release in spring 2013.
Rimes says of her upcoming album, “I took a step back from the years of work and came back to the essence of what music means to me. I made this album for me, for the pure joy of making music, and I think the power of that shows. I looked at this record as making a film. Every song that I wrote and every song I recorded by another songwriter fit the whole vision and story that I wanted to tell. In this album, I’m speaking more honestly than I ever have, from the truth and pain and love in my life and hoping that people connect with those emotions.”
