CRANFORD—The Readers’ Forum, the lively book discussion group of the Cranford Public Library, will meet next on Monday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. The library is located at 224 Walnut Avenue.

The group will discuss The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, a novel by Mark Haddon published in 2003. The book tells the story of Christopher, a mathematically-gifted 15-year-old boy with autism, who, despite his fear of interacting with people, decides to investigate the murder of a neighbor’s dog.

Kirkus Review describes Christopher as a “kind of Holden Caulfield who speaks bravely and winningly from inside the sorrows of autism” and notes that the book itself is “wonderful, simple, easy, and moving.”

The Readers’ Forum welcomes new members at any time. For more information, call the library at 1-908-709-7272 or send an email to library@cranfordnj.org. The full Readers’ Forum schedule can be found on the web at cranford.com/library/special.asp.
