CLARK — Ms. Zampella’s Kindergarten Class at Valley Road School in Clark had the opportunity to vote for what animal will be their class mascot. Students had the choice of a monkey, an ostrich, a kangaroo, and a blue jay. The blue jay won out by one vote over the monkey. Students then suggested names for the blue jay and cast a second vote. Buddy the Blue Jay is the new class mascot. He watches over the class during the week and gets to go on adventures home with his classmates over the weekend. Students were excited to be involved in the decisions and can’t wait until it is their turn to take Buddy home.
