CLARK — Students in Miss Franko’s sixth grade science classes learned about the importance of working as a team during their first week of school. To prepare the students for the different lab activities in the year to come the students were asked to work with their team members to create the highest tower using only marshmallows and tooth picks. As the students tried to create the highest possible tower they needed to brainstorm and agree on how to create their tower. Through this process they discovered both the advantages and disadvantages to working together in a team. At the close of the activity many of the students realized that without the help of their team members they may not have created the same tower.
