Perth Amboy Police Seize Marijuana, Arrest 3

PERTH AMBOY – Police arrested three individuals, including a 46-year-old woman accused of assaulting a detective, and seized marijuana after executing a search warrant at a home on the 300 block of Division Street last Friday, Sept. 7.

Police arrested Ronny DeJesus Bautista, 22, Raul Ivan Mendez, Jr, 22, and Maria Ursula Nunez, 46, mother of Bautista. Bautista and Mendez were charged with CDS possession with intent, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1000 ft of the adult school, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Nunez was charged with obstructing the administration of justice, aggravated assault on a police officer and resisting arrest after she allegedly assaulted Detective David Guzman.

Judge Alan Comba set bail for Bautista at $30,000 with no 10 percent option and at $15,000 with no 10 percent option for Nunez. Mendez was released on his own recognizance.

The charges against the defendants are merely accusations; they are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
