NORTH BRUNSWICK — The owner of a private education and training center has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13, Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and Kenneth McCormick, director of the North Brunswick Police Department, announced Tuesday.
Yomare Polanco, 50, in North Brunswick was arrested on Aug. 30 and was charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of the child.
Polanco, owner of the Polanco Training Center on Georges Road in North Brunswick, was arrested and charged after the child reported the sexual assault to her mother.
Polanco was released from the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick on Aug. 31 after posting $50,000 bail set in the case following his arrest.
He was charged after Investigator Blaise Dipierro of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, and Officer Richard Delacruz of the North Brunswick Police Department determined that Polanco allegedly touched the child improperly on Aug. 28, during a visit to his office at the training center, which offers educational services and job training in a variety of subjects.
The investigation is continuing. Authorities are asking anyone with information to call Sgt. Todd Gerba or Investigator Blaise Dipierro, both of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, at 1-732- 745-3600.
As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges against Polanco are merely accusations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
