ELIZABETH – Over 80 individuals and representatives of businesses throughout Union County spent a day on the greens at Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, one of the county’s premiere private clubs, for United Way of Greater Union County’s (UWGUC) Annual Golf Classic. Attendees enjoyed a fabulous day of golf that included a meet & greet with former New York Giant running back  Ottis Anderson, an exquisite buffet lunch, four star dinner and chances to win marvelous hole-in-one prizes.

“The change of venue this year really excited our supporters,” said James W. Horne Jr., president & CEO of UWGUC. “This year’s event was like no other and we are truly grateful for our sponsors. We rely on their generosity to help us successfully continue our work in the community.

Tournament proceeds will support United Way’s Community Fund, which helps to improve the lives and change conditions in the community by strengthening families. UWGUC develops and supports programs that measurably improve the lives of local children and families. United Way’s Family Success Centers is an example of how the organization works to build stronger, more vibrant and healthy families by providing access to services based on needs.
