Senators To Host Service Academy Day For High School Students

NEW BRUNSWICK – U.S. Senators Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ), an Army veteran, today announced they will host a Service Academy Information Day at Rutgers University in New Brunswick on Sunday, Sept. 9.

Representatives from all five Service Academies (U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Military Academy, and the U.S. Naval Academy) will be available to provide information and answer questions from high school students interested in applying to a service academy, as well as their parents and guidance counselors.

“Service Academy Day is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the opportunities our nation’s service academies can provide young people interested in serving our country. Many of our greatest leaders began as graduates of our service academies and we look forward to proudly nominating the next generation of bright, dedicated, future leaders,” said the senators.

The information session will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9, at Rutgers University: Douglass Campus Center, Trayes Hall, 100 George Street.
