ELIZABETH — In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals North Jersey, Wells Fargo Mortgage, and Brand New Day, Inc. will host a free home buyer expo on Saturday, Sept. 15. The expo will be held at on the fifth floor of Union County College’s Elizabeth I. Kellogg Building, 40 West Jersey Street, Elizabeth, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The expo is designed to help homebuyers separate myths from truths when finding, financing and owning a home in today’s real estate market.
The expo will attract over 200 individuals and families from Union County to provide information, and resources that will help their home buying decisions. All workshops and information sessions will be offered in English and Spanish covering the following topics:
- Home buying basics: Learn the process for becoming a homeowner including different kinds of mortgages, benefits, cost of owning a home, qualifying guidelines and more.
- Renovation financing opportunities: Learn how to qualify for and upgrade a rundown property using a 203K rehab loan.
- Consumer basics: Become informed consumers when furnishing or purchasing products, equipment, or supplies for your home.
- Other topics: Mortgage scams and tenants rights.
