Roselle Park’s SummerFest Presents A Summer Arts Café

ROSELLE PARK – Guitarist Paul Desilva and poet Leona M Seufert will perform at a Summer Arts Café event on Thursday, Aug. 30, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Library, 404 Chestnut Street, Roselle Park. Coffee and cookies will be available at the free event.

Desilva, a Roselle Park resident, has been playing guitar since the age of eight and also likes to sing. He plays instrumentals that sound classical or Spanish but he is versed in many other styles. For about 10 years, he played guitar in church. “I’m basically a singer songwriter/guitarist who is on a musical quest and not trying to limit myself,” he said.

Seufert is the town’s first Poet Laureate. She has read her poems at the annual 9/11 memorial service, and has given writing workshops and readings at the Roselle Park Library and Casano Community Center. Seufert has published two poetry chapbooks, “The Memory Keeper’s Promise – Reflecting on Loss and Remembrance” which included the poems that she read at each of the Roselle Park 9/11 memorial services, and “From Here To There And Back Again, A Commuter’s Journey,” which is a collection of poems she wrote about her daily commute into New York City over a 12- month period.

SummerFest’s goal is to publicize the town’s events and make Roselle Park a destination for summer fun. For more information and to view the monthly calendar of events, visit the SummerFest webpage:
