PERTH AMBOY – U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) hosted “Children’s Health Day” at the Jewish Renaissance Medical Center in Perth Amboy on Monday. At this federally qualified health center, children received free dental and obesity screenings as well as participated in a nutrition information session where teachers engaged with children about good eating habits. “I’m proud to join with the Jewish Renaissance Medical Center to provide our children with necessary screenings,” said Menendez. “A healthy start helps our children reach their fullest potential. That’s why it has been a priority of mine in the Senate to make sure that all children, regardless of their parent’s income level, have access to quality care. And as long as I’m in the Senate, I will continue to fight for investments in our community health centers.” Pictured above, nutritionist Maria Jose Lodiero Skennion teaches kids about healthy eating and the importance of exercise.
