Union Library Announces September Children’s Programs

UNION — The Children’s Department of the Union Public Library has scheduled the following programs at the Main Library during the month of September:

The Union Public Library has started an informal Homeschooling meeting for homeschooling families. This will be a place to meet and share information and ideas with others and also become familiar with the library and the resources it offers. Families are encouraged to bring their own board games to the meetings. This month’s meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 10 from 10:30 a.m. to moon. Saturday Storytime and Craft Programs will be held on Saturdays, Sept. 15 and 29 at 11 a.m. Children of all ages and their caregivers are welcome to attend. No registration required.

Come in your pajamas for songs, stories and games at Bedtime Storytime to be held on Mondays, Sept. 17 and 24 at 7 p.m. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend. No registration required.

Mother Goose Time, for children 1 ½ – 2 ½ and their caregivers, will be held on Tuesdays, Sept. 18 and 25 at 10:30 a.m. No registration required.

Toddler Time, for children 2 ½ – 3 ½ and their caregivers, will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 10:30 a.m. No registration required.

Preschool Storytime for children 3 ½ through kindergarten will be held on Wednesdays, Sept. 19 and 26 at 10:30 a.m. No registration required.

The Union Public Library has started a Library Lego® Club for children ages 5 through 12. This is an opportunity for kids to get creative and build anything they choose. The library will provide the building blocks, while the kids provide the imagination. All materials must stay at the library, so bring your camera to document your creations. This month’s meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Caregivers are asked to stay in the library and are welcome to assist. Th club is also looking for donations of gently used or new Legos for this program. There will be a “Decorate a Door Hanger” Craft Program on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 11 a.m. This program is for children, ages 3 – 5, and their caregivers. Space is limited. Signup is required.

Decorate a Door Hanger with at the school-age craft program to be held on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 3:30 p.m. This program is for children, grades 1 and up, and their caregivers. Space is limited. Signup is required.

Bedtime Storytime for children of all ages and their caregivers will be held on Monday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. No registration required.

Game Day for children ages 3 – 5 and their caregivers will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 11 a.m. Space is limited. Signup is required.

Introduce your toddler to all the Vauxhall Branch Library has to offer at the “Your Toddler and You!” Program on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 11 a.m. Children, 24 months of age and younger, are invited to visit the library with their caregivers to read stories, use the computers or check out a book. No signup required.

Game Day Part 2 for children in grades 1 through 6 and their caregivers will be held on Thursday, Sept. 13 at 3:30 p.m. Space is limited. Signup is required.

Celebrate Library Card Month at the Vauxhall Branch Library on Monday, Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at a family craft program. Family members will design a bookmark and library card holder for themselves. Space is limited. Signup is required.

There will be a “Make a Friendship Basket” Craft Program on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 11 a.m. This program is for children, ages 3 – 5, and their caregivers. Space is limited. Signup is required.

An after school movie presentation of, “The Lorax”, will be held on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 3:30 p.m. Children of all ages are welcome to attend. No signup required.
