SOMERVILLE – Two Roselle men have been indicted in connection with the New Year’s Eve stabbing of two men that left one dead, Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano announced.

Shaquan Johnson, 21, also called “YQ”, was charged with first degree murder and Dyron White, 23, also called “Tatt G”, was charged with aggravated assault.

On Dec. 31, 2011, Franklin Township Police responded to a 9-1-1 call at approximately 1:26 a.m. The officers found Frederick Tijerina, 29, of Houston, Texas at 260 Davidson Avenue, suffering from an apparent stab wound to his abdomen. Police also located a second victim, Chad Everette Robertson, 30, of Shoreacres, Texas, nearby. Tijerina survived the attack, but Robertson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both defendants were arrested in January.

The charges against the defendants are merely accusations; they are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
