Elks Picnic To Raise Funds For Special Needs Children, Veterans

NEW BRUNSWICK — New Brunswick Elks Lodge 324 will be hosting a picnic on Saturday, Aug. 25, at the American Legion Pavilion in Milltown from 1 to 5 p.m. to raise funds for children with special needs and veterans.

More than a dozen veterans from the Menlo Park Home for Disabled Veterans, as well as residents of the Veterans’ Home in Highland Park, will be among honored guests.

Tickets are available at the gate at $25 per person, or by contacting the Elks Lodge, 40 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick at 1-732-545-0658. Tickets for children between the ages of 12 and 7 are half price. Children aged 6 and under are admitted free.

Music, food, beverages and a horseshoe tournament are among offerings at the annual event.

Proceeds from the fund-raising event go to support the New Brunswick Elks, a charitable organization dedicated to helping children with special needs and to assisting veterans. The organization has more than 500 members from New Brunswick and surrounding communities, including North Brunswick, Milltown, Highland Park and Franklin Township.
