Suspected Heroin Dealer Busted

PERTH AMBOY – Police arrested a 52-year-old Perth Amboy man outside his Inslee Street home on Thursday and charged him with possession of heroin with the intent to distribute.

Segundo Villanueva-Matos was also charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of The Edmund Hmieleski School for Early Childhood Development. Judge Maria Del Valle-Koch set bail at $50,000 with no 10 percent option.

Detectives observed Villanueva-Matos exit a vehicle in front of his home and discard a cigarette box before attempting to go inside. When police recovered the box, they found 200 glassine envelopes that each contained a powdery substance believed to be heroin. The value of the suspected drugs is approximately $2,000.

Detective Mabner Terron led the investigation.

The charges against Villanueva-Matos are merely accusations; he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
