One choice can change many lives... Faith or Fate by John Ruggiero

by rocky-o

Never let it be said that I ever had a bad word to say about anything associated with Bob Marley…

And the new release of a documentary, simply titled “Marley”, is no exception…sort of…

Now, I must first say that, I not only love his music, but I have also seen a lot of Bob Marley documentaries…own many of them…and, when watching this particular release, which is officially ordained by the Marley juggernaut, I felt a bit compelled to question why…

Not that it isn’t good, it certainly is…but…if you’ve seen other documentaries, there isn’t that much new light shed here…enough…but not enough…

And maybe I set my expectations a bit too high, since it was sanctioned and highly publicized…And yes, you do get a lot of his history, growing up in Jamaica, becoming a superstar, etc., all the way to his final respects…And, like I said, if you’ve never seen another Marley documentary, you’ll find alot to love here…

And any Marley fan should watch it regardless, but make sure you also catch the documentary “Prophecies And Messages”, which gives great insight into his spirituality, and “Up Close And Personal”, which delves into his catalogue of music, which is, ironically, hardly touched upon in this new flick…

So…should you see it…yes…should you buy it…if you are a fan of Robert Nestor Marley, absolutely…but know that, it is merely an ‘addition’ to the other ‘editions’…
