PERTH AMBOY – Actress Odeya Rush, costar of the new Walt Disney film “The Odd Life of Timothy Green,” will be in Perth Amboy this weekend working on a short film produced by a former city resident.
Rodrigo A. Orozco, a 2004 graduate of Perth Amboy High School, is producing a short film titled “Little Girl Blue” that stars the 15-year-old actress. The film is a coming of age story about a 14-year-old girl struggling to connect with her socially awkward father and her newly super-popular best friend when a mysterious instant message from a boy turns her world upside down.
Orozco will be working with writer and director Molly Fisher to oversee a cast and crew of 20. Filming will take place from Aug. 16 through Aug. 20 in several locations in Perth Amboy, including two private homes, the waterfront area, and Lewis and High Street for outdoor scenes.
“Though Orozco had the opportunity to produce this film anywhere in the tri-state area, he decided to hold it in Perth Amboy,” said Mayor Wilda Diaz. “This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our city, businesses and to especially take pride in one of our very own Perth Amboy residents.”
