BELLEVILLE — All-star pro wrestling returns to the Belleville Knights Of Columbus Hall, 98 Bridge Street for two huge tournament shows on Friday, Aug. 17, and Saturday, Aug. 18, both shows hosted by popular tri-state promotion National Pro Wrestling Superstars, and benefiting the Knights of Columbus.
On Friday night, at 7:45 p.m., NPWS hosts the annual 2012 Captain Lou Albano Memorial J-Cup Tag-Team Tournament, a one-night single elimination tournament featuring 12 of the best tag-teams on the independent circuit today. The late Captain Lou, along with his accolades as a TV, movie, and music video star, was a highly successful manager of WWE championship tag-teams and a long-time friend of NPWS, so it is only fitting that this event honors his memory.
Saturday night at 7:35pm, NPWS will present the annual 2012 Chris Candido Memorial Jersey J-Cup Tournament. This tournament has been an annual spectacular since 2000, and in 2005 was renamed to honor the memory of one of the most beloved pro wrestlers, Chris Candido, who tragically passed away just days before the 2005 event. This event features a one-night single-elimination tournament featuring some of the best cruiserweights and junior heavyweights on the circuit today. Many past winners of this tournament have gone on to TV stardom, such as Jay Lethal, Low-Ki, Super Dragon, and Rhett Titus.
In addition to the tournament participants, ladies wrestling stars from “sister” promotion Women Superstars Uncensored will be making appearances that weekend.
Single-show tickets are only $19 for adults and $17 for kids and seniors, and a two-show ticket is available at the bargain price of only $28. Tickets are available at the following local outlets:
