RAHWAY–Hamilton Stage will hold an audition for dancers ages 7-9 to perform with international-touring company, “Ballets with a Twist” at the opening night performance of Hamilton Stage’s inaugural season.

Young dancers chosen from the audition will also join the company during its Hamilton Stage season Oct. 22-28, dancing the short ballet “Mint Julep” with members of Ballets with a Twist, one of seven affiliate companies scheduled to perform in the new Hamilton Stage during the Inaugural Season. Those selected will perform the roles of “prancing ponies” alongside company members in choreographer Marilyn Klaus’s latest piece, a nostalgic depiction of Kentucky Derby traditions.

To be selected, dancers must demonstrate an ability to learn choreography in a professional setting, and be available for 4-6 rehearsals during August and September. Audition will be held at Hamilton Stage on Aug. 11 with sign-in at 11 a.m. Audition starts at noon and will be completed at 1:30 p.m. To sign-up for the audition, visit www.HamiltonStage.org and click on “Young dancers with a twist!”
