EDISON – Mickey Dolenz, lead singer of the Monkees, will be the headline performer at Edison Township’s Fall Family Spectacular on Saturday, Sept. 8, at Papaianni Park.
The Monkees was an NBC sitcom that aired for two seasons in the late 1960s and lived on in Saturday morning repeats and syndication for many more years. It won two Emmy Awards in 1967, and the made-for-tv group released several successful albums. After the show ended, Dolenz released several solo singles and albums.
Other scheduled music performers include New Jersey’s own “The John Eddie Band” and “Joe Bononno & The Godsons of Soul”
The spectacular will feature over three acres of food, crafts, exhibitors, a large car & motorcycle show, a wine & beer garden, and a large rides & carnival games area. There will be three shows of professional wrestling with special appearances by WWF Legend and Hall of Famer “The Honkey Tonk Man.” There will also be a “Hell on Wheels” BMX Thrill Show. The event will conclude with a fireworks display at dusk.
