LINDEN – The Linden High School Dance Company and the Linden High School Cheerleaders invite the community to attend a benefit banquet on Wednesday, Aug. 8, to celebrate the life of Amber Duncan-Wilson.
More than 1,000 mourners attended the funeral for the recent Linden High School graduate, who was fatally shot on July 9 while walking home from a Dunkin’ Donuts.
The banquet will take place at the Linden High School Auditorium, beginning at 7 p.m. There is a $5 suggested donation.
“Let us stand together and comfort each other,” wrote Linden Councilman Derek Armstead in a flier to promote the event. “Remember God never give us anything we can’t handle. Every problem has in it the seeds of its own solution and now it is up to all of us as a unified community to put our heads together and find the solution together. We owe it to our children, our precious Amber and other victims of crime to do something. Crime is not only a Linden problem, it is a disease that is attacking communities all over the country. It’s going to take villages of people, parents, friends, educators, community leaders, business leaders working together to find a cure.”
