For the past 26 years, Carteret has been my home. It’s where my husband and I bought our first house, where we raised our children…where we built our life together.
My oldest son, Christopher, started in the public school system almost 21 years ago and I’ve been involved in public education since then. Five children’s worth of academic careers later, and I’ve been a member of the Minue School Parent Teacher Organization for 14 years, coached in the Carteret Little League, and served as Corresponding Secretary for the Carteret Sportsmen Association.
When the opportunity first arose for me to run for School Board in 2006, I approached it with a sober awareness of the level of responsibility attached to the position. As parents and as members of the Carteret Board of Education, we’re responsible for ensuring our children are equipped with the tools to be successful in life; a task that requires care, persistence, and a dedication to seeing our kids reach their full potential.
I know firsthand that being a parent is the hardest job anyone can do. I’m running for re-election to the School Board because I want to help other Carteret parents do it. If we stick together, we can ensure our children’s futures are brighter than our hopes for them are high.
Carteret has given my family so much, and it’s with a humble heart that I ask for your support as I seek to continue giving back to the community I love.
