Remembering The Past: Memories Of Mirror Lake

Remembering the Past by Diane Norek Harrisonby Diane Norek Harrison

WOODBRIDGE-Awhile back I had done some columns on “Mirror Lake.” Here are some memories from Dave Landishman after seeing my columns:

“I have so many memories of ‘Mirror Lake.’ I remember my dad would make a left turn at this old rusty broken down crane, I think this was Mill Road. I also remember the big sign on Woodbridge Avenue.

“I remember the snack bar there and the very crowded pool. We use to take boat rides and people would water ski. I remember this strange pyramid type tower, I think it was orange. That place was so 70s! I went there from 1969 until probably about 1974.

“Mirror Lake and the day camp there were a big part of my childhood. If you know of anyway to get photos of that place, I’d love to see them. I always think, and some times dream, about the ‘good ole days’ in Middlesex County.”

If anyone has photos of the area mentioned in this column to share with my contributor and to use in my column, please email me.

If you have your own memories of the past in Middlesex or Union counties, email me at or send copies of your material to me c/o CMD Media, 1139 East Jersey St., Suite 503, Elizabeth NJ, 07201
