NEW PROVIDENCE– The NJ Sharing Network Foundation received a $100,000 donation from Morristown-based Hampshire Real Estate Companies, a real estate investment fund manager, to support the work of NJ Sharing Network, the non-profit agency responsible for the recovery of organs and tissue for 5,000 New Jerseyans awaiting lifesaving transplants. The foundation is the philanthropic arm of NJ Sharing Network.

The contribution is among the largest single gifts ever made to the NJ Sharing Network Foundation.

“We are extremely grateful for this generous gift and express our sincerest thanks. This contribution will greatly help our efforts to save and enhance as many lives as possible through organ and tissue donation,” said Elisse Glennon, executive director, NJ Sharing Network Foundation.

Hampshire Real Estate owns the building that NJ Sharing Network leases for its headquarters in New Providence.

“Through our relationship we gained an even greater appreciation for the important work of NJ Sharing Network and how they contribute to the community,” said Norman A. Feinstein, vice chairman of the Hampshire Companies.

“Some of us at Hampshire Real Estate have been touched by organ donation, and experienced close-hand the value of NJ Sharing Network. We all felt it was important to support this valuable and lifesaving work,” he said. Hampshire Real Estate has more than 50 years of experience acquiring, developing, leasing and financing real estate throughout the United States.

Since 1987, NJ Sharing Network has worked on behalf of organ donors and recipients. It has more than quadrupled the total number of organs recovered in New Jersey for transplantation. NJ Sharing Network also recovers tissue for life-enhancing transplants. NJ Sharing Network continues to reach New Jerseyans through educational tools and the media to inform them of the option to donate and of the benefits of transplantation.
